Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) works hard to keep people safe at home, on the roads and in the community.
To do this we often need the name and address of our service users.
To make sure people get the right services, we may ask for further information such as age and health. This helps us to understand their safety risk, what people's needs are, and who else may be able to help.
Other agencies share information about people with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, where both parties have identified that someone is at a higher risk from fire and other emergencies.
For example, NHS England, the Royal College of General Practitioners and fire and rescue services in England work together to share information to allow fire service staff to offer Home Safety Checks for people who have a higher risk of experiencing a house fire. NFRS also shares information with East Midlands Ambulance Service about people given medical treatment by NFRS as well as with Nottinghamshire Police about deliberate fires.
We work closely with other agencies such as councils, health services, the police, adult and children's services and registered social landlords. We may, to help make vulnerable people safer, offer assistance and share personal information with these agencies.
All personal information is held securely and processed under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR). It is deleted when no longer needed for the above purposes, in line with NFRS's information storage policies.
You can ask for a copy of the information NFRS holds about you. You should make your request in writing, by letter, fax or email. You can use our Personal information request form (Word version) or Personal information request form (pdf) which you can download, fill in and send. Please be as specific as possible. If your request is too broad, we may ask you to clarify it, which means it may take longer to provide the information. If you are requesting information on behalf of someone else which they've agreed to, please use our third party Personal information request form (Word version) or third party Personal information request form (pdf).
