We're writing again to reinforce te importance of water safety following several tragic incidents across the UK. 17 people lost their lives in water-related incidents nationally during the last heatwave, including heartbreaking cases here in Nottinghamshire. These incidents are a stark reminder of how quickly situations around water can turn fatal.
Although the weather may not yet feel like summer, we know that as soon as temperatures rise, young people and families will be drawn to open water. That's why sharing these messages now is so important - before the warmer weather arrives.
We would be incredibly grateful if you could support us by sharing the key information below with parents and carers, and reinforce the key messages with your pupils through assemblies.
