Carlton Fire Station is based on Manor Road, Carlton, and is staffed by 28 wholetime firefighters spread across four watches, Red, White, Blue & Green.
Our neighbouring station areas are Arnold to the north, Central to the west and Newark to the east with the River Trent acting as a natural barrier to the south.
We attended 850 calls in 2014, 750 in 2015 and should reach approximately 700 by the end of 2016 which shows a decline in fire calls, which is a result of the success of strategic community safety initiatives employed across the county.
Carlton has one pumping appliance which is sent to the majority of calls, plus a Breathing Apparatus Unit which will be deployed to large scale incidents where a significant number of breathing apparatus sets are required or a greater level of control and supervision is necessary.
The station has an extensive training capability, both practically, in the form of a fire training house and theoretically in the form of classrooms, meeting rooms and an IT suite. These facilities can be utilised by other stations in the county.
