About Us

Bingham Fire Station is a Retained Duty System station crewed by local people on an 'on-call' basis. The section currently consists of 14 firefighters but is always on the look out for new recruits, so if a secondary role of firefighter, to fit around your other responsibilities, appeals to you then please contact us for further details. The team are paid an annual retaining fee and an hourly rate for any operational calls or training they attend; please visit our Careers page to find out more about current recruitment campaigns, the RDS role and what we would expect from you.

The team at Bingham train on a Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm and provide cover around their 'day jobs'; this may be daytime, evening and/or weekend cover.

The fire station in Bingham was built in the early 60s to replace the previous station which had been located in the back yard of Bingham Rural District Council's buildings in Station Street. The previous fire station had been there for a large part of the 1940s and 50s.
