About Us

Ashfield Fire Station is part of the Service's North Group, and serves the communities of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and surrounding areas within the District. The Station is located on Sutton Road and was opened on 9 May 1988.

There are two specialist vehicles based at Ashfield Fire Station, the Water Foam Unit and the High Volume Pump. The Water Foam Unit is a dual capability vehicle used countywide, providing firefighting water for incidents in the water bowser role or firefighting foam when required.

The High Volume Pump was initially part of the New Dimensions Programme introduced in 2003 to provide specialist assets to deal with local, regional and national emergencies. When attending incidents it is supported by a unit from Newark Fire Station and crewed by RDS personnel from a number of North Group fire stations.

Ashfield Fire Station is actively involved with a number of local safety initiatives, working with multi-agency partners to provide education, safety advice and support to the community.
