Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is marking Deaf Awareness Week from 7 – 13 May by running British Sign Language (BSL) taster sessions for its staff to raise awareness of communication with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people.

Firefighters from Highfields Fire Station in Beeston will be serving tea, coffee and cakes to members of the public in order to mark International Firefighters Day. This is the day when we remember past firefighters who have dedicated their lives and died while serving and protecting the community. An annual memorial service takes place in London on Sunday 6 May.
