Fire Safe

Young person with Fire Safe practitioner
One-to-one sessions for young people

Fire Safe is a 10-session one-to-one cognitive behavioural programme aimed at medium/high-risk offenders aged between 12 and 17 years old.

The programme is based on a model of change (suggested in the theory model within the scheme programme) and covers:

  • cognitive behavioural skills.
  • education and fire awareness.
  • family involvement (where appropriate).

Young people are referred to this programme through a youth Referral Order, which means that they have been charged with the offence of arson. They are required to attend all sessions with their case worker.

Each Fire Safe session is led by a trained Fire Safe practitioner from our Community Safety team.
