Our performance
The Service records information about every incident it attends, and uses it to analyse the location and causes of fires, road accidents and other emergencies. This information guides and supports our prevention work in those areas of greatest need, helping us to improve the safety of our community.
Performance indicators allow us to measure our own performance year-on-year, and to compare our performance with other fire authorities.
In most cases, targets have been set to achieve an improvement in performance compared with the previous year. In a few cases, where performance has been particularly strong, or in areas of lower priority, we have set targets to maintain our current performance. Most targets are set over a three-year period but they are revised every year to reflect current performance and ensure they remain challenging.
