Consultation
The views of the people we serve is vitally important to us and we are always keen to receive feedback on what we do and how we do it.
The comments, thank you letters and complaints we receive are of great value as they help us to identify the things we do well and the areas which need improvement.
We also consult formally with local people on certain specific pieces of work, such as our three-year IRMP (NFRS Plan 2010 - 2013), the budget and any plans to introduce major change to our services that will have a big impact on you or where you live.
We aim to consult widely and cost-effectively on these to give everyone who might have an interest in our proposals an opportunity to express their views. We use a range of consultation methods to encourage organisations and individuals to play an active part in developing proposals and options.
Between 1 August and 13 November 2011 we consulted on suggested changes arising from our Fire Cover Review, which included proposals to increase fire cover in some areas, reduce it in others and introduce new vehicles to our fleet. The Fire Authority received a report on this in December and decisions were taken.
